We have prepared this page to address some of the most common questions from patients scheduled for surgery.
WHERE WILL MY SURGERY BE PERFORMED?
We work with several respected hospitals and surgery centers in the Monmouth County area. The location of your surgery will depend on the surgery you are having and the surgeon you are seeing.
REVIEW AND UPDATE YOUR MEDICATION LIST
Make sure you review and update your medications list prior to your surgery. We recommend that you put all your medications on an index card, which you can keep in your wallet or on your person. Bring this with you to your surgery.
OBTAIN YOUR MEDICAL CLEARANCE RIGHT AWAY
Some surgeries will require a written medical clearance from your doctor. The criteria for medical clearance is hospital or surgery center specific. Once your surgery date is set, make appointments with the appropriate physicians to obtain your medical clearance right away! If your medical clearance is not obtained in time, your surgery could be delayed. Not all patients need to have medical clearance prior to surgery.
READ THE PRE-OPERATIVE PROTOCOL
Please read and sign the pre-operative protocol that will be given to you in advance of your surgery. This document will also tell you the do's and don'ts of preparing for surgery.
PREPARE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS AND BRING THEM WITH YOU TO THE HOSPITAL:
- Insurance card
- Photo ID
- X-Rays and MRIs if requested
